Gwendolyn Sager Obituary
Gwendolyn C. Sager, 75 of Anaconda died Monday October 17th, 2016 at the Community Nursing Home of Anaconda. Services will be held at Gateway Christian Fellowship (4th & Cherry) at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 21, 2016. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at New Hill Cemetery in Anaconda.
Gwen was born in Los Angeles, California on December 28, 1940 to Harry and Clara Crum. She married Earl Sager on December 22, 1961 and to this union three children were born: Bruce (Janine); Jill (Steven Skolrud); Wayne (Cherie); nine grandchildren: Kaylee (Tyler Baggerley) Keith (Allana); Krista, Ashley Skolrud, Joel Skolrud, Caleb Skolrud, Shelby, Olivia (Todd Pomponio), Greg; along with one great grandson: Karson Pomponio.
Gwen received her teaching credentials from Western Montana College in Dillon. She taught in Great Falls and Butte along with substituting in Anaconda. She later owned and operated Sager Tours and Travel International of Anaconda, along with her husband Earl.
She will be remembered for her unquenchable thirst for reading. Gwen was a devote Christian. She was a longtime member of Anaconda Assembly of God. She was a very active participant in the church music program. Gwen was a member of the Anaconda Hand Bell Choir, member of the Red Hat Society, and for the past nine years she wintered in Arizona.
Gwen was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Clara Crum, her in-laws Earl and Mildred Sager, sister Kathleen Parrow, and numerous other family members.
She is survived by her husband of over 55 years Earl L. Sager of Anaconda, her brother Mike (Glenda) Crum of Anaconda, her sister Becki (David) Collinsworth of Anaconda, brother-in-law Robert Sager of Butte, sister-in-law Marilyn (Bob) Holm of Anaconda, along with numerous extended family members.
Memorials may be made in Gwen's name to a charity of the donor's choice.
