Clay Olson, 63, of Helena and formerly of Philipsburg, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017 in Helena.
Clay was born in Casper, Wyoming on October 20, 1953 to Raymond Byron and Mary Violet (Broman) Olson.
He received his education in Helena, graduating in the class of 1971. Following graduation, he enlisted in the US Army, serving for 13 years and was honorably discharged in 1984.
He entered civilian life, serving the community of Helena with many different employers and civic organizations, most recently, the Enterprise Company.
He was an average old guy, to hear him say. He was not one to boast about himself or his life. Friends spoke highly of Clay. A person of good character, a kind gentleman, who took pride in all of his work.
Clay was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his children, Matthew Robert and Ann Michelle, brothers Bruce and Marcus Olson, as well as extended family and many friends.
Memorials may be sent to a youth organization or a charity of the donor's choice.
Celebration of Life Services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Longfellow Finnegan Riddle Chapel in Philipsburg. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Interment will be held at the Philipsburg Cemetery.
