Bettyalene Tuss Obituary
Bettyalene "Betty" Tuss, Age 86, died June 4, 2016 surrounded by family after a short battle with cancer. She was born August 30, 1929 in Seattle, WA to Albert and Isabella (Clifford) Stohlton. The older of two children Betty graduated from West Seattle High School then attended college and went to work as a military clerk, she exceled at math and book keeping and was very meticulous. She met and fell in love with a blue-eyed sailor Vern A. Tuss Sr. and they were married in 1951. The newlyweds moved to Hawaii, which Betty always considered one of her favorite places on earth. In 1952 the couple returned to Vern's home in Opportunity, MT where Betty helped run the family business and worked at Hearst Free Library, but her most cherished job was being a mother to her two boys "Vernie" and "Chuckie".
Betty loved music and had a talent for teaching herself to play and enjoyed sharing her gift with others. She will be remembered for her passion to care for others and her adventurous side that took her all over the country and around the world.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Isabella, and her brother William Stohlton.
Betty is survived by her husband of 64 years Vern A. Tuss Sr., her son Vern Tuss Jr. and wife Lori, and son Charles Tuss and wife Liz. Grandchildren Devon (Scott) Lloyd, Denise (Patrick) Dauphinais, Vern Tuss III, Danielle Tuss, Aubrey Tuss and Kaylee Tuss. Great-Grandchildren Jack Dauphinais and Hank Lloyd. Aunt and friend Agnes Maracich and numerous nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 2016 at the Longfellow Finnegan Riddle Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. A reception will be held at the Opportunity Community Club at 1:00 p.m.
