Angeline Morse passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on June 12, 2017, three days before her 86th birthday. She was born at home in Ramsey County, North Dakota on June 15, 1931 to Matt and Mary Schafer.
Angeline grew up with six brothers and a sister on a farm in North Dakota. This is where her love for animals and gardening began. In 1948, Angeline married Melvin Morse. From this union came five children. The family moved to Opportunity, Montana in 1960, where Melvin worked on the Smelter until he passed away in 1978. Angeline never remarried.
Angeline's hobbies were bird watching, gardening, walking, camping and fishing. She also liked to take rides in the country. It wasn't unusual to come home from school and find mom nurturing an abandoned or injured animal back to health. She also liked to make arrangements out of dried flowers, grains, grasses or weeds, almost from anything that grew out of the ground.
Angeline is reunited with her parents, her husband Melvin, her son Danny, her twin brothers who died at birth, her brothers Ed, Joe, Mike and Sonny, grandchildren Levi and Delsi Morse and her son-in-law Steve Hoscheid.
Angeline is survived by her sons Randy Morse and Rick Morse (De De), daughters Lanette Hoscheid and Karen Blume and son-in-law Mike, grandchildren Shane Morse (Alyssa), Cassie Clark (Scott), Seth Blume (Megan), Kandra Eubanks (Cliff) and Amber Nugent, great grandchildren Kira Morse and Jadyn Bomar. She is also survived by her sister Mary Lou Nelson (Elden), brothers Albert Schafer and Donald Schafer (Butch), sister-in-law Dorothy Schafer and numerous nieces and nephews. We apologize if any names were omitted, contact has been lost over the years.
At Angeline's request, there will be no formal services. There will be a graveside gathering of the immediate family, and no commencement is planned, on July 1, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
